“I have always liked to improve a small factory. I can’t say that the performance of the factory was bad, but some of the solutions used in this engine were completely inappropriate, and besides, Citroën unfortunately seems to pale in comparison with the German models – the hatchbacks of the competition were more powerful,” explains the owner. of DS about his decision to sing 4.

How did the DS 4 power-up project begin?

“The project started with a simple modification of the map, but there was no significant increase in power, and few people wanted to work on THP. Initially, there were more problems than benefits, including: because of his own modifications. Unfortunately, the adjustments by trial and error produced high costs, and there were parts that were missing, but in the end I had to get the car in working condition.

The exhaust and intake were made, and to reach the current power and torque, many parts had to be transferred from the new Peugeot 308 GTi of 270 horses, among others. turbocharger, map sensor, Turbo valve, Torsen gearbox, clutch, etc. The DS 4 also got a lower suspension.

Along the way, the engine suffered a major failure and Red Automotive installed a new, more efficient one. I left the stock brakes for now. The 340 mm diameter discs still work decently, but maybe in the future I’ll decide to switch to something better.

At the same time, it allows you to reach economical kilometers. The engine has its limitations, but with proper use and a good mechanic, you can extend the life of the unit and prevent further failures.
