Of Renault Avantime,, Renault Vel Satis,, Opel Signum,, KitiToledo and a few years later also the strange one Nissan Cube here are some good examples. And the lines of Vel Satis and Toledo inspired Mazda to come up with an amazing concept: Mazda MS-X.

Mazda MS-X Concept
The acronym stands for Multipurpose Sedan Experimental and combines minivan, sedan and compact notchback models. The results were unusual, but the lines were difficult to reproduce in series production.
The Mazda MS-X debuted at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 1997. The situation was somewhat complicated, as the premiere took place that year alongside some models that would make automotive history in the years to come (think of Smart Fortwo,, Land Rover Freelander,, Porsche 911 996 model and VW Golf 4)
What should be credited to Mazda for this unusual concept today is the confidence that the manufacturer showed in designing the interior. Both in terms of style and performance.
For example, when you start the car, a minimally designed panel with a screen pops out of the dashboard. Above are the analog instruments surrounding the rest of the display. There is already a navigation system and a smart card replaced the traditional key.

Surprisingly, the extreme interior modification has not been photographed by the company for many years. The same applies to the trunk, of which there is not a single photo on the Internet. MS-X was the last such daring idea and Mazda. In the following years, the Hiroshima company ventured a little. By 2009, Ikuo Maeda, the creator of Kodo’s current design, became the chief designer and is still highly respected by all fans of the brand to this day.
