Tesla is recalling all 4,000 Cybertrucks in circulation for an accidental acceleration problem.

The Cybertruck can be reinforced everywhere, but the Tesla tank looks very fragile. The manufacturer has implemented a voluntary recall procedure that covers all models produced, ie… less than 4,000.

Marketed as the ultimate vehicle in a post-apocalyptic world (thankfully, we’re not there yet), the Cybertruck runs into a lot of problems! Tesla’s land vehicle knows how to navigate flooded areas in a way specifically adapted for immersion, but without causing a little trouble with the tailgate controls. As for driving in the snow, you might as well not think about it at all.

More upsetting, Tesla’s bad reputation on fines has caught on. The manufacturer has launched a voluntary recall procedure and this time, it is not a question of using a simple software update from home: Cybertrucks will need to be repaired at Tesla service centers.

It turns out that the accelerator pedal has a bad habit of accelerating on its own, which is annoying (especially with such a large car that can lead to disaster). The protection attached to the pedal can become loose and stuck in the interior of the vehicle, preventing the pedal from returning to its original position. Wow!

Tesla explain that the problem occurred after the change” not approved » of the lubricant that should facilitate the accumulation of metal on the accelerator pedal: ” Residual oil reduces pad retention in the pedal », explains the company.

Tesla discovered the problem on March 31, then on April 12 decided to organize this recall. At the beginning of the week, a TikTok video showing the extent of the problem went viral: the company had to take action, especially since NHTSA, the US road safety administration, had received three complaints.

Incidentally, we also learn that Tesla has delivered 3,878 Cybertrucks since the launch of deliveries on November 30. The pickup thus confirms its status as a niche vehicle.
