GMC Teases 2025 Yukon Refresh

GMC has given us a carefully trimmed but unobtrusive look at the 2025 Yukon SUV, revealing a new headlight, grille and fascia for the popular AT4 trim. There weren’t any additional technical details in the GMC version, but we can infer that they didn’t choose the AT4 by accident.

Currently, the AT4 trim is the only Yukon trim that cannot be optioned with the 3.0-liter Duramax inline-six turbodiesel. We expect that the 2025 update will correct the situation, as is the case with its Chevrolet counterpart.

The addition of a diesel to the AT4 may come with changes to diesel specifications in the rest of the Yukon and Yukon XL lineup. Originally offered with 277 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque, the updated version of the 3.0-liter Duramax, the LZ0, has increased its output to 305 hp and 495 lb-ft of torque.

The engine is smooth, powerful, and quiet, and returns the highest fuel efficiency in GM’s full-size pickups, so it’s no surprise that GMC wants to include that engine in the popular AT4 trim. GMC’s quarterly report noted that 20 percent of its buyers choose the AT4 model, making the premium, off-road SUV a key part of the brand’s success.

Also like its Chevrolet counterpart, we expect the Yukon’s interior to get an update with a restyled center stack. Since the 2024 Acadia receives a 15-inch, graphics-oriented center screen, it makes sense that the brand’s flagship SUV will lead the way and at least match that measure.

We’re not sure when we can expect the 2025 Yukon to hit the market, but it was revealed that it will be the next product launch after the 2024 Acadia arrives this spring. GMC has promised to reveal the full Yukon 2025 lineup later this year.
