Bugatti pays homage to its past with Chiron Super Sport “Hommage T50s”

The customer ordered a special configuration from Bugatti recalling the brand’s past sport. Its purpose: to honor the legendary example of T50s with its Chiron Super Sport “Hommage T50S”.

Today, many future owners of the Bugatti Chiron Super Sport do not hesitate to work with Jascha Straub, the designer in charge of Bugatti’s special projects. The goal being to afford a unique car, that is here a car paying homage to Bugatti’s 50S model. Its name: Bugatti Chiron Super Sport “Hommage T50S”.

Despite the already accomplished record in motorsport in the 1930s, Bugatti decided to equip its T50S with a new 5.0L eight-cylinder engine.. It then became a highly successful touring car, to the point of entering the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1931. An accident occurred in one of the three chassis entered, forcing Bugatti to withdraw from the race.

Therefore, in honor of one of these cars, the number 5 is written on each door and decorates the middle part of the front grille. The inscription “Le Mans 1931” is placed between the doors and the rear wheels and The Circuit de la Sarthe is drawn under the spectacular wing. The choice of body color and interior finish – including the engine cover – are similar to those that adorn the famous Type 50s.
