range of 100 and 130 km/h

490 km is the official range of the Lotus Eletre S. But what kind is it actually? So how far will you go if you drive down the highway at 100 kilometers per hour (or 130 km/h)? We are trying that!

Of Lotus Eletre has a total battery: 109 kWh. The Eletre is certainly a car with impressive numbers. We tested the Eletre S with 603 hp and 710 Nm. It runs up to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds and dominates the left lane of the autobahn with a top speed of 258 km/h.

For the test of use it is good to know that the Eletre S weighs no less than 2595 kg and has cold tires. The tires are also impressive: 275/40 R22 front and 315/35 R22 rear. You read that right: 22-inch winter tires!

The weather is good for the winter test: 11 degrees during the day and 8 degrees in the evening. It’s dry and the sock next to the highway says it’s very windy, but in the vast Lotus Eletre area you don’t notice it. In the image below you can read the average power consumption. Eletre even makes a nice graph of it.

Lotus Eletre: range measured at 100 and 130 km / h

Lotus Eletre: 100 kilometers per hour

At 100 km / h, Lotus Eletre S has an average power consumption of 26,2 kWh/100 km. If you run a full battery with a usable capacity of 109 kWh completely empty, you will arrive 416 kilometers ver.

That is a very high power consumption. Power of 544 hp Mercedes EQS SUV stays for the winter 22,4 kWh/100 km. Of Volvo XC40 Recharge is known for its great thirst and marks 23,0 kWh/100 km. But let’s be honest: Eletre is better in all areas. Economy is not a top priority with a large SUV.

Lotus Eletre: range measured at 100 and 130 km / h

Lotus Eletre: distance 130 kilometers per hour

At 130 km / h, the power consumption increases even more. Lotus Eletre uses its big battery 35,9 kWh/100 km. The result is a distance of 130 kilometers per hour 303 kilometers.

The EQS SUV produces 33.7 kWh/100 km and the electric XC40 gets 32.9 kWh/100 km. Once again, the Lotus Eletre is definitely not economical with energy.

Conclusion

The Lotus Eletre S has a big battery and that’s a good thing, because it uses more power than we’re used to from other large SUVs. The result is a distance of about 400 km for those who can control their right leg.

And that’s easier said than done, because the Eletre is such a powerful and big machine that you hardly notice whether you’re driving at 100 or 130 km/h – both. Groundnuts. The on-board computer notices the difference, because if you drive in traffic after 7 pm, the cake is gone after 300 km.
