Because the turbo punches from the bottom right, but somehow always feels like it’s running out of air from the top. A vacuum cleaner, on the other hand, develops more and more power as speed increases, which equals driving resistance, which also increases. So the vacuum cleaner does not break the motor of the driver, but instead demands more and more. That “he wants to be turned” feeling comes from exactly that.
We have to keep reminding ourselves that in this tour, after all, the successor should get a turbo-charged eight-cylinder with hybrid support this year. Puritans will still cover their faces, but most of the customers, who care more about outward appearance than inner values, probably don’t.
Maximum power is 8000 revolutions
Even in this cold morning when we ride the white Sterrato with its red and black details. Three other journalists from England, France and Spain are traveling with us. In addition, Lambo journalist Enrico, who leads the expedition with a mechanic in the accompanying Urus-S and acts as a photo vehicle if necessary.
The first stage takes us to the Moto GP race in Mugello, where we want to stop to take a quick photo and the first car exchange. Unfortunately, we are not allowed to go on the route itself because we don’t have much time left. We have about 500 kilometers ahead of us, which we take first on the Autostrada, because it is better not to torture your way through the city through Bologna.
But after a few kilometers the obnoxious vibration starts to annoy us. It’s good that we have that Navi it suggests a winding alternative route that we cross the border of Emilia-Romagna to Tuscany and we are also greeted by beautiful paths lined with cypress trees that are very common here. At least I think it’s a pine – as far as plants go, I’m glad I can tell the tree from the flower…
First we go on a short photo tour with all four models, then we’re back on the highway. Before that, however, we discover a familiar place name: Sant’Agata – not Bolognese, but Sant’Agata Mugello. But in Italy a number of churches are dedicated to Saint Agatha – and therefore they are often dedicated.
Past Florence we head southwest along winding country roads towards Volterra. Located on a ridge in the middle of a hilly area, it is considered one of the most beautiful towns in Tuscany. The ride alone is a spectacle, especially in such good weather and with a 640 hp, rear-wheel drive. But the historic old town and the ubiquitous alabaster crafts are also well worth seeing.
Fortunately, the gas explosions did not cause the plaster to crumble from the historic walls
And now we have this old town all to ourselves with our four Huracans. While our colleagues go to eat, we left the photographer Kevin for an hour, putting 2,530 hp for a few great group photos and entertaining the young and the old at the same time Because during lunch a small school bus enters the piazza every ten minutes, and also the city workers from the city hall and the nearby police station are on their lunch break.
After strengthening, we continue in the Evo Spyder. The only “regular” Huracán left, as the coupé was discontinued in the middle of last year. Spyder now also produces 640 hp, always comes to customers with all-wheel drive and is at the forefront in terms of sound. Even with the cloth cap closed, because at the same time it began to shrink. Another disadvantage of the Spyder comes to light: headroom. If this works so well in the coupe, at 1.96 meters I can no longer sit upright.
But now things have to move a little faster because we are already very behind schedule. At the rest stop we switch to the Tecnica – our last derivative of this trip and somehow my personal favorite in the Huracán range. Not only because it is cheaper, but also because it has been the most successful way to recreate the series and it is more fun to drive.
