Price: Subaru Crosstrek (2024) from less than 35,000 euros

To recognize the deep face of the Subaru XV in its name, the compact crossover is now called the Subaru Crosstrek worldwide. The changes took place only in Japan during 2023, and also here from January 2024. Subaru offers a price of 34,790 euros (until September 2023), which is more than the last time. Like the XV, the Subaru Crosstrek (2024) is also based on the Subaru International Platform, but the suspension, like the body, is now more complex. Along with the reduced weight of the vehicle, Subaru promises better handling, especially since the new electric power steering and torque steer and differential ratio should execute steering commands almost instantly. The newly designed seats are now attached directly to the body, which aims to reduce rolling movements. According to Subaru, better noise and vibration insulation also contribute to greater comfort. Power (136 hp (100 kW) instead of the previous 150 hp (110 kW)) comes from a 2.0 liter boxer engine and a mild hybrid system called e-Boxer, which is delivered to the road via all four wheels. Improved pedestrian protection and revised support systems complete the comprehensive design update.

Visually, the successor to the XV remains true to itself: Although the radiator grille grows, it has a honeycomb design and is led by slim full LED lights – and LED corner lights for the first time – little change to the basic shape of the body . The striking wheel arches remain, complete with new 18-inch alloy wheels and a gently sloping rear end. Press photos show the Subaru Crosstrek (2024) in two new colors Offshore Blue Metallic and Oasis Blue. In the interior, the 11.6-inch infotainment display is now positioned higher and is meant to better integrate smartphones.

Driving visibility: Noticeably improved comfort

Renamed as the Subaru Crosstrek (2024), Subaru’s smallest SUV was not only refreshed, but also received many comprehensive improvements in safety, handling and comfort. The price has only increased moderately.
