Nissan Juke Facelift (2024): First test drive

With the new Nissan Juke facelift, the crossover will be revised over 2024 – with clean interior values, a familiar exterior and a new yellow color that mentions the successful first generation. The first test!

Everything is different in 2024 than it was in 2010 – the year the first Nissan Juke came on the market. A trendsetter at the time, the Nissan Juke facelift is now one of many compact crossovers. To ensure that it continues to win over its buyers, Nissan has given them a solid, albeit very subtle, upgrade. We run the Juke as a hybrid with N-Sport equipment – however, you can’t get a Juke beyond that at the moment. The tandem of a 1.6-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine and an electric motor produces 143 hp (105 kW), which is sent exclusively to the front axle. So there’s nothing new with the drive – apart from a new engine map and better shift times.

And the first test drive goes as you’d expect: quiet, balanced in the engine interaction – but also less powerful than the sporty appearance of the equipment line suggests. Hybrids favor extended cranking phases that can send the combustion engine into retirement for a period of time. Then the Juke is whisper quiet and very efficient. If you call for more power, the naturally aspirated engine whines subtly and supports the electric motor for more thrust with little delay. A situation that the little Japanese likes a little and that is only forced when passing maneuvers. If you get involved in the nature of the hybrid Nissan, you will go around the country in peace. Test drive: Nissan Juke Facelift (2024) is suitable for sports speed

You should think carefully about whether you really need N-Sport accessories. Because Nissan doesn’t change the suspension or chassis for the equipment variants. The new Nissan Juke Facelift (2024) shows why this is not necessary during the tests to move around Barcelona: It drives more reliably than its French platform brother Renault Captur. Driving has pleasant views and body movements are limited. Despite the large 19-inch tires, the Juke has a firm, but not bad, suspension.

Competitors:

We especially like the upgraded interior, which takes the yellow exterior color of the test car and is wrapped in high-quality Alcantara. Seats that fit and function are easy despite the rise of digital technology. The subtle warning tones of the now more understandable assistance systems (such as the speed warning) can be completely disabled with a few simple steps – for example. Transparency remains a flaw of the sleek Japanese design – the improved 360-degree cameras help a lot. However, there is no change in terms of space: especially at the back, things are more intimate – reinforced by small side windows and a black roof, which is specific to the equipment. At the end of the first Nissan Juke Facelift (2024) car test, which included the necessary combination of highways, city centers and hilly country roads, the on-board computer reported an average consumption of 7.1 l. A value that can easily be beaten with a modified driving style.

Our conclusion

Congratulation: A larger, easier-to-use and readable screen, new colors and rims as well as technical improvements, such as the camera, improve the experience. However, because there is no entry called Visa, the price of entry increases significantly.
