Price Ford Explorer Netherlands: cheaper than expected

It’s been over a year since we were first introduced to the Ford Explorer. The brand is now listing the price of the fully electric SUV online. As it turns out, EVs are much cheaper in the Netherlands than expected.

In 2023, Ford announced that the Explorer will have a price tag of around 45,000 euros. However, this seems not to be the case. The entry level is much cheaper.

Price Ford Explorer in the Netherlands

In the Netherlands you can order a Ford Explorer from 41,450 euros. This means that this car is eligible for a SEPP subsidy. The entry-level vehicle has a 52 kWh battery pack connected to a 170 hp electric motor on the rear axle. This Standard RWD has a range of 384 km.

For a little more money, 45,950 euros, you can order an Extended Range Ford Explorer in the Netherlands. Then you get a 286 hp electric motor and a large 77 kWh battery pack. The range is then 602 km according to the WLTP measurement method. This offer also qualifies for a SEPP grant because its taxable value is less than 45,000 euros.

If you order an Extended Range with four-wheel drive, you won’t receive a government subsidy. For at least 53,950 euros you get two electric motors that together produce 340 hp and a 79 kWh battery pack that will take you 566 kilometers on paper.
