Rumor mill: CF Moto expands to a higher class / product

In 2020, CF Moto introduced a fully tuned 1250TR-G touring machine, powered by a modified KTM V2. There have been rumors since then, but no other CF Moto models have this engine.

The revision of the CF Moto 1250TR-G is similar to the BMW R1250RT, but under the expanded plastic skin there is no boxer engine, but a V2 that you may recognize as a KTM engine called the LC8.

CF Motor and KTM have a partnership, CF Moto manufactures KTM’s mid-size and inline two-cylinder models at the company’s location in Hangzhou, China, and KTM’s parent company Pierer Mobility sells CF Moto motorcycles in German-speaking Europe. country, among others.

However, the V2 developed by CF Moto has been significantly changed externally and in terms of technical data compared to its KTM counterpart. By shortening the stroke from 71 to 69.8 mm, the bore remains the same at 108 mm, resulting in a displacement of 1271 cc (instead of 1301 cc of KTM / Husqvarna).

In the most powerful version, the KTM engine produced 180 hp at 9,500 rpm and 140 Nm at 8,000 rpm. CF Moto specifies 143 hp at 8500 rpm and 120 Nm at 7000 rpm for the 1250TR-G. KTM has now introduced a modified V2 with 1350 cc (2 mm more bearing, same stroke, variable intake valve control), which is currently only installed on the Duke 1390 naked bike. of travel) with this engine is likely to follow.

Which brings us belatedly, but nonetheless, to the speculative-rhetorical question of whether CF Moto simply modified the LC8 engine to create a single model, this 1250TR-G. An equally speculative answer: No, they will soon be building a bare-bones roadster called the 1250NK and a touring enduro called the 1250MT. And KTM CEO Stefan Pierer will not be offended by this, but instead will offer motorcycles suitable for price-conscious customers with CF Moto along with its brands KTM, Husqvarna, GASGAS and MV Agusta.

CF Moto already showed a naked bike in 2017, namely the V.02-NK concept motorcycle at the Milan motorcycle show. However, two unusual technical solutions of this motorcycle concept can no longer be found on the production motorcycle planned according to the latest construction drawings: The radiator (curved) is usually placed in front of the engine and not, as in the motorcycle concept, seat and thrown by two large airways.

The rear swing arm, in which the upper eye of the shock absorber is connected to the swing arm (arrangement from the MotoGP race), will probably be left in favor of a conventional support on the tubular space frame. The chassis is similar to KTM’s tubular space frame, which is obvious when using an almost identical engine with the same or similar mounting points. A single-sided swing arm, on the other hand, can also be found on a production motorcycle – if there is such a thing and its SPEEDWEEK author has not lost himself in speculation.

Another rumor is the travel enduro CF Moto 1250MT, a photo of which was shared worldwide from a Greek Facebook page. There are no pictures or official information from CF Moto. Since CF Moto offers three variants of its current 800MT enduro model, powered by the KTM 790 Adventure engine, several possible 1250MT variants can also be represented, from the street enduro with cast aluminum wheels in 19/17 inches up to one. Off-road version with longer suspension travel, adjustable spring elements and 21- and 18-inch wire wheels.

Finally, check out the CF Moto 1250TR-G touring machine, available only in Asia: The 300kg stunner is fitted with, among other things, cornering ABS from Bosch, four-piston brake pads from Brembo, cruise control of distance. with radar technology and Marzocchi spring components. In the cockpit, a 12.3-inch horizontal TFT color display provides an overview. It stands to reason that this device can be installed in other models.
