The South Carolina Attorney General (AG) has been asked to probe an incident in which a student was allegedly assaulted during the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance.
The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) has requested the Attorney General to investigate a purported assault that occurred during the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance in a school in the state. According to reports, the student was allegedly attacked by another student while expressing loyalty to the United States.
The incident occurred on October 9th, and the student’s parent filed a complaint with SLED. In the wake of the complaint, SLED has asked the AG to conduct a thorough investigation into the matter. If found guilty, the accused student could face criminal charges.
SLED has also asked the AG to review the school’s policies and procedures related to the Pledge of Allegiance. The agency wants to ascertain if the school has adequate protocols in place to ensure a safe and secure environment for students.
In addition, SLED is seeking to determine if any additional steps can be taken to protect students from similar incidents in the future.
Given the serious nature of the incident, the AG has taken prompt action to investigate the matter. The outcome of the probe will be closely monitored by the public.
