Firmship is a Dutch company that manufactures luxury yachts and was founded by Casper Visser, co-founder of Moooi and Revised, among others. And by luxury does not mean many features and all kinds of problems. On the contrary. Yes, their yachts are undoubtedly luxury, but the Firmship yacht is durable and stripped of all the charms.

One of the creative people behind Firmship is artist and designer Job Smeets van Studio Work. Its task is to make a marine interpretation in the existing design of the iconic Defender. The four-wheel drive Firmship Defender has been stripped of all frills and reminds us of the very first Defender from 1948. Unfortunately, the international launch of this icon took place in Amsterdam at that year’s AutoRAI.

RAL 7035, also known as Light Grey, was chosen as the color of the Firmship Defender. This color was specifically chosen by Job Smeets because it is a neutral gray and therefore does not have strong warm or cold undertones. This makes it a versatile color that can be combined well with other colors. It also has a calming character and in many industries RAL 7035 is associated with professionalism and reliability.

The Firmship Defender is painted in the world’s strongest metallic paint, a paint that is normally only used on bulldozers and public telephone booths in the United States. The wheels are revised versions of the original Land Rover designed wheels that became the model for the Defender. Of course with new colors and colors. Outdoor tranquility can also be found inside. The entire interior has been redone and is luxurious and comfortable.

In fact, everything is in good order under the hood. 400 hp ensures a maximum speed of 191 km / h and a maximum torque of 550 Nm. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h ‘costs’ in 6 seconds.
