Subaru has relaunched its entry-level models. The Crosstrek replaces the XV, while the Impreza enters the sixth generation. Both cars are kept on the road, but benchmarks with standard equipment and a good driving experience.

The name Crosstrek may mean nothing at first to many Subaru customers in Germany. The car name is only new in Europe. In other markets, Subaru has always sold the SUV known here as the XV as the Crosstrek. Now the German importer is also taking the model name and sending the XV in its third generation as Crosstrek, at the same time as the sixth generation Impreza. Both have been available from Subaru partners since the end of January.

The Crosstrek and Impreza are on the same platform. The XV was originally a variant of the Impreza compact car before being developed as its own model series in 2012. The importance of the SUV is now even higher: according to KBA data, in 2023
