1. 1. Land Cruiser, three series

The Land Cruiser model family is offered worldwide and includes three different series. The new 250 is the only variant coming to Europe and is part of the ‘Light Duty’ range, which was launched in 1985 and is also known as the ‘Prado’. It sits alongside the 300, a luxury model available in North America, Africa, the Middle East, Asia and Oceania, and the ‘Heavy Duty’, also known as the 70, which celebrates its 40th anniversary this year and will be launched. on the worst slopes in the world.

With this new 250, Toyota has chosen to return to its origins and emphasize the basic characteristics of this practical and reliable model, with a silhouette that refers to the very first Land Cruisers. On the new five-seater Land Cruiser, the boot floor has become longer and wider than it was in the old model. There are also seven seats, which of course sacrifices some of its load height for its third row of seats. There is still room for two 55cm boxes behind the third row. If you fold it down, there is even room for three large 86 cm jackets, plus one 81 cm and one 69 cm. The new Land Cruiser also comes standard with a tall opening boot lid. This makes loading easier, also thanks to the electric controls and the freely opening rear window.

In Western Europe, the new Land Cruiser can rely on a 2,755 cc direct injection diesel engine with four cylinders, which develops 204 hp at 3,000 rpm. The engine is mated to a new 8-speed automatic transmission and permanent all-wheel drive. Thanks to its 500 Nm torque, you can even tow trailers weighing 3.5 tons. Toyota will also launch a mild hybrid version in Europe in 2025, combining the same engine with an electric start generator and a 48-volt lithium-ion battery.

1. 5. Prices of new Land Cruiser

The new Land Cruiser is offered in Belgium with a long wheelbase and five doors at a starting price of 75,220 euros for the basic TX version. The best-equipped VX is available from 88,180 euros, while the First Edition (with round lights) costs at least 98,900 euros. All prices include VAT. The three versions have the same technical characteristics. Toyota offers a 10-year or 185,000 km warranty for example, Eurocare roadside assistance for the same period and finally a 12-year corrosion warranty.
