Corrective action has been implemented
As a corrective measure, Honda Canada will notify affected vehicle owners by mail and ask them to take the vehicle to a dealer to have the SRS light checked. If the light is on because of a bad weight sensor, it will need to be replaced. According to Transport Canada, replacement of the defective part can be done when replacement parts are available. At this time, owners of a vehicle that needs sensor replacement will, through a second letter, be invited by Honda Canada to come to their dealership to replace the front passenger seat.
Until they receive the letter, owners of Acura and Honda vehicles can also go Honda Canada website and enter their VIN (vehicle identification number) in the space provided to confirm if their vehicle is affected and recalled.
