2024 Buick Envision Review: Price, Specs and Photos

What kind of car is the 2024 Buick Envision? What is it compared to?

The 2024 Buick Envision is a crossover that competes in the premium segment with the Lexus NX, Lincoln Corsair, and Acura RDX.

Is the 2024 Buick Envision a good SUV?

The redesigned 2024 Buick Envision is upscale in style, standard safety technology, and room for passengers, but there are no electric powertrain options and the IIHS and NHTSA have not completed crash tests on the new model. That brings its TCC Rating to 6.8 out of 10. (Read more about how we rate cars.)

What’s new for the 2024 Buick Envision?

Buick prepares the 2024 Envision better than previous years, and removes the mid-level Essence trim. All-wheel drive now comes standard on Preferred, ST, and Avenir trims, and Buick packs the Envision with more standard assist features than most rivals.

The Envision sports a refined finish with narrow daytime running lights that wink above a wide grille that is flanked by vertical headlamps. Curved ends and sculpted sides combine for an elegant but understated profile that rolls on 20-inch alloy wheels on all but the base model. The interior shows the biggest changes, with a 30-inch display with digital instrument cluster and touchscreen. A clean, spare dash is complemented by the same uncluttered console. Chrome-like downloads as well as available leather upholstery protect its premium quality.

The 228-hp 2.0-liter turbo-4 comes with a 9-speed automatic transmission, but Buick now equips every model with all-wheel drive. Turbo-4 provides pert power, but 9-speed can be taxed under a heavy foot or when carrying a full load. Driving modes like Sport and Off-Road are more suggestive than dialing in or powering off, but the Envision drives quietly and calmly under most conditions.

That should benefit passengers in all five seats, but we’d use the middle seat for short distances or short people. Rear legroom is nearly 40 inches, and the cargo area can hold enough gear for a busy family weekend or a couple’s long getaway.

A welcome change for the 2024 model is a full array of driver assistance technology. Buick equips every Envision with everything from adaptive cruise control and automatic emergency braking with cyclist detection to a surround-view camera system. It hasn’t been tested by the IIHS, but the NHTSA gave its related predecessor a five-star crash rating.

How much does the 2024 Buick Envision cost?

The 2024 Buick Envision costs $38,690, including a $1,395 access fee, for the base Preferred model. Standard features include 18-inch alloy wheels, all-wheel drive, a 30-inch display that includes a digital instrument cluster and an 11.0-inch touchscreen, as well as a 9-speaker Bose audio and head-up display.

The ST model costs $41,190 and adds 20-inch alloys and a flat-bottom steering wheel, while the loaded Avenir tops the range at $49,790.

Where is Buick’s 2024 Vision being made?

It is imported from China.
