2024 Chevrolet Blazer EV to see price drop to $6,000

After the Tesla Model Y and Nissan Ariya, General Motors will also apply price cuts on Chevrolet Blazer EV. Indeed, the company confirmed to RPM that the electric SUV will now be affordable in LT and RS versions. The latter will now be eligible for a provincial government rebate of $7,000.

Some improvements

Michelle Burnham, general manager of product communications at General Motors, confirmed that the Blazer EV will be available for sale again. In addition to this announcement, the company confirms that a major software update has been made to, according to GM, improve the overall onboard experience.

Still according to the manufacturer, feedback collected from current owners has pushed Chevrolet to correct certain things, including the image in the central screen that is now clearer and the addition of multi-color adjustable ambient lighting. Some features have been modified according to GM, but details are not yet available.

New prices and incentives

The big news, however, is the price reduction on the 2024 Chevrolet Blazer EV Indeed, the 2LT AWD version will have a price adjustment of $3,000, from $63,370 to $60,370 including shipping costs.

RS AWD and RWD versions will also be eligible for a $6,000 price drop. Pricing ranges from $73,270 to $67,370 for the two variants, still including shipping and handling costs.

So, this confirms that the entire current range of Blazer EV will be eligible for the two rebates offered by the government. The 2LT version, which was already entitled to this discount, therefore becomes $3,000 more affordable, while the RS version, on the other hand, is more economical. The RS version, previously ineligible for a regional discount, is now $6,000 cheaper. The total discount for the RS version is, under these conditions, more than $12,000, assuming that the regional discount is applied after tax.

GM said the price changes are aimed at being competitive in the electric vehicle segment and meeting “our customers’ desires for more affordable prices.” GM is reopening orders for the 2024 Blazer EV and the company confirms that Quebec dealers can access this new price point.
