Many Asian automakers thrived across the U.S. auto industry in the first quarter of the year. However, it hasn’t been all roses and daffodils in terms of sales, especially for some pretend brands.

Toyota – with 565,098 vehicles (+20.3%) is hotter than ever on the heels of General Motors, which slipped by 1.5% to 594,233 models in the first three months of 2024. As usual, Toyota was followed from the Asian side by their competitors . at American Honda – the division was pleased to announce its first best quarter since 2021 with 333,824 units (+17.3%).

Interestingly, the increase came from the Honda brand because like Nissan Infiniti (minus 12%), Acura also fell into the sales slump registering a 20% drop at over 9k units. The performance is bad, frankly, both because of the drop and the minimum level.

Naturally, the Japanese automaker hopes it can turn the tide. It’s just starting to show off the promised new features — the 2025 Acura MDX luxury mid-size SUV is getting a refresh just two years after it hit the market with its fourth generation. It brings a subtle new look and superior technology throughout. That’s not all, though, as the RDX, MDX, and ZDX crossovers will receive a younger sibling called the ADX sooner rather than later.

We already knew that Acura’s flagship lineup was coming since Honda of America outlined its 2024 strategy in the first days of the new year, and now the teaser campaign has officially begun. However, unofficially, rumors and the creative world of digital car content creators have already revealed the concept of the crossover. SUV which can be combined with the Honda HR-V instead of the CR-V such as the RDX compact luxury crossover SUV.

For example, Vince Burlapp (also known as ‘vburlapp’ on social media) is a prolific online artist who loves to dream up all the latest models in the various automotive fields, and is more than willing to spill the CGI beans on the 2025 Acura. ADX . Since the Japanese automaker isn’t saying much except that it will have turbo power under the hood and a close relationship to the Acura Integra in the lineup, the model is basically open to any interpretation.

So, take this presentation with a grain of salt — so far, Acura is moving ahead with the teaser campaign and has only revealed the ADX logo it will use on the base CUV in the lineup. However, without a doubt, the RDX, MDX, and ZDX crossovers will definitely have an influence on the ADX design team. So, do you like this abstract vision or not?
