Citroen has become the first global manufacturer to export electric vehicles from India.
Citroen is expanding the production of cars in India and the factory is starting to produce not only for the domestic market but also for export. This is facilitated by the convenient location of the plants near the Chennai port. Cars made in India are aimed at the Asian market.

“We are proud to announce that Citroën has become the first global car manufacturer in India to export electric vehicles made in India, a testament to our strong commitment to Make-in-India and ensure sustainable, clean and safe mobility in India and globally. .” – said Citroen brand director Shishir Mishra. “Our first delivery of 500 Citroën C3 vehicles was shipped to Indonesia today. This important event was graced by Mrs. Lise Talbot, Advocate General of France, highlighting the strong relationship between India and France. We are leading the way to a greener and more sustainable future.“
Citroen C3 produced in India differs from the European version – it has slightly simplified equipment and different markings.
