Car makers Kia and Hyundai want to launch an indoor delivery robot. The DAL-e transmission was first presented in 2022 and is now significantly improved, the companies promise in a statement. The robo-assistant is intended to be used especially in difficult environments such as offices or shopping centers to deliver food or packages autonomously. The DAL-e presentation will also be able to cross the entire floor.

The DAL-e presentation should be able to “fly” through the hallways at 1.2 meters per second. To do this, manufacturers install four “Plug & Drive” modules that can be moved freely. These are control units that combine the motor with steering, suspension, braking systems and sensors for environmental awareness. This last method enables the new delivery of the quarter to get from A to B independently; To go from floor to floor, DAL-e Delivery will also be able to communicate with elevator and door control systems, says Kia.
In addition to autonomous driving capabilities, the DAL-e Transmission should score for improved stability. The latest version has a lower center of gravity and improved suspension for a smoother ride. In addition, version 2.0 is small, but at the same time provides a large storage space for packages or luggage containing caffeine: the “belly” of the metal delivery driver can easily carry up to 16 cups of coffee or items weighing a kilogram 10.
