Anti-Porsche Panamera from China

In full growth, the Chinese group BYD intends to increase its European offensive with a new brand: Denza, with the first position. Several variants are planned, including a bullet brake that owes much to Porsche…

Among Chinese automakers, BYD is definitely the one that has experienced the most meteoric growth…

BYD, a small Chinese player that has become a global giant

In 2023, BYD has sold 3.02 million cars worldwide, an increase of 61.9% compared to 2022! Thanks to the performance of the very strict strategy implemented by the manufacturer in terms of electrification.
BYD has sold more than 1.4 million plug-in hybrid vehicles, and 1.6 million 100% electric models. It comes dangerously close to Tesla, which during the same period sold 1.81 million electric cars…
In France, BYD sold 520 cars last year. “Nuts” in appearance, but The brand has been exclusively with us since July 2023. Six models are currently on sale: les SUV Atto 3, Tang et Seal U, Han and Seal’s sedansand Dolphin connected.
The brand will increase its distribution in France, as well as in Europe where many new products are planned in the coming years. But alongside its own brand, BYD will also launch Denza models, its premium division with Mercedes-Benz (90%/10%).
They will be more technological than their BYD counterparts, but also more expensive due to the high-end position that the brand wants to give to the market…

For Denza, the premium attack begins in Europe

Three examples will be given. The N8 is a large family SUV with 5 or 7 seats. N7, the SUV with the most aerodynamic style and to be very successful. And finally D9, a great little car “Japanized”, standard Toyota Alphard or Nissan Elgrand. But that’s not all. This brand has great ambitions in the continent where it intends to compete…Porsche!
It really raised the curtain on the previous model of the series Its future Z9 GT, a shooting brake with a sporty look that closely resembles the Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo. The German is also in the first official photos, alongside the Ferrari GTC4Lusso, the volume is set!
Denza does not hesitate to compare the interior of its new model with that of the Mercedes-Benz S Class, a mark on the market in terms of comfort and known quality.
For others, we know nothing about it, except that it should be recommended internally plug-in hybrid engineand probably also 100% electricity.
The new Denza Z9 GT will be officially unveiled at the upcoming Beijing Motor Show on April 25. It will arrive in Europe in the second phase (probably in early 2025), where it will be also available as a four-door sedan.

After BYD and Denza, the Chinese group will launch other brands in Europe: YangWang, with the top-end position. But this is another story…
