With a hydrogen V8 engine, this vintage Jeep Cherokee will be revealed at CES

At CES 2024 in Las Vegas, the GCK group will present a hydrogen engine version of the legendary 1976 Jeep Cherokee Grand.

There is no rest for the GCK teams this year-end holiday season. While presenting this weekend the first prototype of its e-Blast hydrogen fuel cell car, the Savoyard group announced via a post published on Linkedin its presence at CES, Las Vegas, with a new model. Together with its partner Motul, the company will present a “restomod” project based on the 1976 Jeep Cherokee Chief.

Developed by Solution F, one of the group’s subsidiaries, this demonstrator will receive a hydrogen combustion engine, a 6.2 liter V8. For GCK, it’s about exploring the possibility of repositioning in the US market.

If we have to wait until January 9 and the opening of the doors to the 2024 edition of CES, the reintroduced Jeep Cherokee is not the first project of GCK and its Solution F in the field of hydrogen engines. As part of the centenary of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the company has already presented the Foenix H2, a GT with a hydrogen engine. Recently, a partnership with NamX was announced to prepare the brand’s future SUV with a hydrogen combustion V8.
