Pagani Has Another Special Huayra On The Way

Like the Zonda before it, the Huayra simply refuses to die. It was originally launched in January 2011, but here we are, almost 13 years later, and we’re still talking about a new version that’s about to launch. Although the Utopia is technically the successor to the Huayra, the Italian supercar maker posted a new teaser photo on social media showing the car hidden on a track ahead of its debut.

The only information we have is that the base model of the Huayra is developed by Grandi Complicazioni (Italian for “Big Complications”). If the name doesn’t ring a bell, it’s the company’s special projects division tasked with creating affordable and low-cost vehicles. It appears to have a floating roof sticker as it doesn’t appear to have a top, so we’re likely looking at a convertible with a removable window. The rear of the car strongly suggests this is the Imola road version.

Launched in September 2019, Pagani built just five Imola coupes with a twin-turbo 6.0-liter V12 developed by AMG to produce 827 horsepower and 811 pound-feet of torque. That’s a lot of muscle for a supercar that weighs just 2,747 pounds. before the water. It was mated to a seven-speed Xtrac automatic manual transmission to direct the output of the twelve cylinders to the rear axle.

When the fixed-roof Imola debuted, Pagani said it tested the Huayra for 10,000 miles on the circuit as part of the “most rigorous road-proofing test” Pagani had ever undertaken. The coupe was designed as an off-road model, so we’d imagine it would be a similar story to its road counterpart. The Imola was sold from day one and we think it will be the same with this new derivative.

We should know more when Pagani reveals its next supercar in the next few months.
