Bugatti, new V16 hybrid engine: first, pictures, teaser video

Bugatti is now used to overtaking us every limit and every thought. If the Veyron opened the doors to 1,000 CV – breaking the taboo – Chiron then broke every other technical record with a single engine 8.0 liter W16 da 1.500 CV and a top speed exceeding 440 km/h. Not to mention all the special editions costing a few million euros that have followed each other over the years (you can find all the information about the latest edition here). But 2024 it’s also a year of transition for the French hypercar brand. Well yes: in the next few months Bugatti will begin its electrification journey… in his own way. From Molsheim they have decided to surprise the world again by posting a short video previewing their next engine: hybrid V16. There is no typo, there are 16 cylinders and it is arranged in V. The information is – at the moment – very little, but my advice is put on the headphones and listen to what it sounds like What is shaping up to be one of the greatest engines in history.

WE STILL KNOW A LITTLE The details, obviously, have not yet been presented. The moving images show the engine in low light and the ” logoV16”which stands next to the text”Bugatti”, and it’s already enough to give you goosebumps. And then, there’s a voice: dark, raw and brutal. Although there is no technical information, it is possible that this V16 is taken from two 4.0 liter V8 from the joint Audi/Volkswagen group. In its latest update, the 8-cylinder engine offers a medium 650 and 680 hp and, adding them together, it is therefore possible that the next Bugatti hypercar reaches a total power close to 1.800 CV. In short, the world’s fastest car record may soon have a new owner. However, the V16 engine is not entirely novel: BMW it was tested – without putting into production – the same unit, when the actual deployment of the only one began 1991 and very rare Cizeta-Moroder V16T.

BEGINNING OF THE MONTH OF JUNE The next hypercar, Bugatti’s first hybrid, will premiere in June.
