BEIJING, 22. April 2024 /PRNewswire/ — BYD, known for its innovations in electric vehicles and sustainable technology, is entering into a revolutionary partnership with ForwardX Robotics, a global leader in autonomous mobile robots (AMRs). Through this partnership, basic automation solutions have been implemented in BYD’s advanced battery production line, marking a shift towards more efficient and environmentally friendly production.
To meet the growing demand for electric vehicle batteries, BYD has changed its production approach by integrating ForwardX Robotics’ AMRs with specialized autonomous forklifts. This strategic move represents a departure from labor-intensive methods that are costly and unsuitable for the industry’s rapid growth. The BYD facility operates nine units of ForwardX Robotics Max 1500-L Slim AMR and six units of Apex 2000 Autonomous Forklift with a fork height of 2.4 meters in an area of 15,000 to 16,000 square meters. These AMRs and forklifts work seamlessly together to improve material handling and streamline production operations.
