Danilo Petrucci: Crash in motocross, Assen shakes / Superbike World Championship

After his trip to Autodrom Grobnik (Rijeka), Danilo Petrucci began detailed preparations for the Superbike meeting in Assen. A Ducati rider crashed badly during motocross training.

The nearly four-week break between Barcelona and Assen is tough for cyclists like Danilo Petrucci. The tension that has recently been built should be kept high, but the measurements with the emergency motorcycle are very small. So the Italian used a regular Ducati V4R for training and traveled to Rijeka to Grobnik Autodrom for a drive last week. There the 33-year-old met Barni teammate Yari Montella (Supersport World Championship) and sponsor Spark and had a great time.

In Italy, Petrucci wanted to keep up with motocross, but that was not a good idea. During training on Thursday at the MX track in Cingoli, the Ducati rider fell and broke his right collarbone and jaw. Petrucci was conscious the whole time. The unfortunate man underwent surgery on Thursday evening.

There are currently no details about his injury or predictions about his return. One can imagine: the meeting in Assen in a week threatens to take place without the famous Petrucci.
