Some time ago it was announced that Ikea will prepare its smart home system with the new Diriger portal from autumn.
Diriger Smart Device Management Gateway is the successor of Trådfri Hub from Ikea. The device is already visible inside Norwegian Store Ikea website. Thanks to this, we can get more official information about the new smart home gateway. In addition to looking clearly modern, the connections are also modern: in addition to the Ethernet connection, the Ikea Dirigera Hub has a USB-C port for power. Inside, of course, there is a ZigBee module, but there is also WLAN and Thread on board.
Diriger’s goal is not easy as Ikea sets the price at NOK 699. This is equivalent to approximately PLN 330 (we don’t know the Polish price), so it is more than double the list price of the Trådfri door, which costs PLN 149 in Poland.
Along with the new smart home hub, Ikea will also introduce a smart home app that will work exclusively with the Diriger portal. We can already check out the new app thanks to Diriger’s shared product images.
Important – old Trådfri devices can be easily connected to the Diriger portal.
