Electric Maserati GranCabrio: 2 advantages that will silence EV haters

What is not known is the Italian electric cattle car. It is similar to its close relative: the Maserati GranTurismo Folgore. This means it has three electric motors, good for a continuous power of 762 hp. The peak power is even 830 hp. Torque is uprooting 1350 Nm. GranCabrio Trofeo with 3.0-liter V6 does not exceed 550 hp and 650 Nm….

This means that the GranCabrio Folgore roars from 0 to 100 km/h in a silent 2.8 seconds. That’s 0.7 s faster than the GranCabrio Trofeo. To reach the maximum illegal speed of 200 km / h from a stop, you need no more than 9.1 seconds. All four wheel drive ensures grip is maintained during these types of sprints.

Fortunately, charging is almost as fast as accelerating: thanks to the fast charging capacity of 270 kW, the battery goes from 10 to 80 percent capacity in 18 minutes. We can also say it another way: in 5 minutes you get 100 kilometers of extra. Additionally, Maserati promises a smart navigation software that protects the driver from the stress of the range.

The driver and his companion should also not suffer from the cold. A combination of dynamic climate control, seat and neck heating keeps occupants warm, even in inclement weather.

About 5 meters and more than two tons

Unlike the old Tesla Roadster, the Maserati GranCabrio Folgore is not a compact convertible. It has a length of about 4.97 meters and a width of 1.96; including mirrors, the wingspan is even 2.11 meters. Weighing 2340 kg, he becomes an honorary member of the Wight Watchers. The trunk is not very impressive: it only fits 114 (top down) to 151 liters.

Sound experience

Internal combustion engine Maseratis are known for their incredible sound. And especially for a convertible, the audio experience is an important part of the driving experience. Well, Maserati claims that it has done everything possible to give the GranCabrio Folgore a thrilling track. Digital and therefore fake of course, but we want to know.
