Everything you need to know about Alfa Romeo Milano

When Alfa Romeo announced that the first electric model – well, except for a few 33 Stradales – was coming, we secretly hoped for the rebirth of the MiTo. That’s what it is, but higher on his feet. And in some ways it is yet another small cross from the Stellantis group, but it distinguishes itself, even from its brother Tonale. This is the new Alfa Romeo Milano.

Welcome to Alfa Romeo’s new design language. Sit back, drink and relax, because Alfa’s designers have not been silent. According to these designers, there are several parts related to tradition. They point to a small overhang (short bumpers, in simple terms), muscular wheel arches and a ‘cut tail’ which is similar to the old Giulia TZ.

But the most noticeable thing is the grille. With EV Scudetto (as the triangular grille is called) the big Alfa logo. With the hybrid version (because that’s also available) you see the vents and the old Alfa wordmark. The ‘cool look’ of the nose, according to Alfa, is complemented by two three-segment LED lights. Please let us know what you think about the front view of the new Alfa Romeo.

Specifications of the electric and hybrid Milano

The entry-level electric car has 156 hp and a 54 kWh battery. That can take you 410 km. This EV is technically equivalent to the Peugeot e-2008, to name a few. There is also a powerful version called ‘Veloce’. Corresponds to 204 hp. Alfa Romeo does not want to say anything about the 0-100 times and the top speed. The battery charges from 10 to 80 percent in half an hour.

The hybrid version is called Milano Ibrida. Before you Google: Ibrida means hybrid in Italian. The 1.2-liter three-cylinder engine is supported by a 29 hp electric motor that receives power from a 48-volt battery. By the way, the power is 136 hp. That power goes to the front wheels through a six-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. By the way, the electric motor is in the gearbox. A four-wheel drive version will follow later.

Alfa Romeo sets the bar high for Milano

Alfa has put a lot of effort into the driving behavior of the Milano. A group of workers who also worked on the Giulia GTA can work on the crossover under the skin. The goal: to make Milano the best way to date. The Veloce version should take care of this. This version received additional sports stability bars, a chassis that is 25 millimeters lower and a Torsen differential. Special 20-inch performance tires should provide more grip.

The Milano looks neater on the inside. There are two 10.25-inch driver display screens and a central screen. You can go crazy inside with all the Alfa logos you will come across. In the higher ‘Premium’ and ‘Sport’ trims there are extras such as different upholstery, electrically adjustable massage seats in the front, aluminum pedals and cabin lighting. In addition, there is always ChatGPT on board and you can store 400 liters of luggage in the trunk.

It is not yet known what price Alfa Romeo will charge for the hybrid and electric Milano. If Milano wants to stay close to his brother Stellantis, it will have to cost between 30,000 and 50,000 euros. You can currently order the launch version of the crossover called the Milano Speciale. This version has a 156 hp hybrid or electric car. There are also 18-inch wheels, matte red details and a leather steering wheel. The price of the Special is also not yet known.
