FCA US LLC agreed to a class-action settlement to resolve allegations that it violated federal law with unsolicited phone calls about the Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid minivan.
The settlement benefits people who received an unsolicited phone call that used a fake or pre-recorded voice on their cellphones about the FCA US Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid minivan in or around July 2018.
According to the class action lawsuit, FC USA LLC sent unsolicited calls to consumers about its Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid minivan. The class-action plaintiffs allege that these phones violated the law Mobile Consumer Protection Act (TCPA).
FCA US LLC is the American branch of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, one of the largest car manufacturers in the world.
FCA US has admitted no wrongdoing but agreed to pay an undisclosed amount as part of the settlement of Pacifica’s TCPA class action lawsuit.
Under the terms of the settlement, class members may receive equal distributions of the settlement fund. Payments will vary based on the number of valid claims filed, but each claimant can receive up to $60. This amount may be less after attorney’s fees and other expenses are deducted.
The deadline for exclusion and objection is 12 April 2024.
Pacifica’s final settlement approval hearing is scheduled for May 2, 2024.
Class members must submit a valid claim form by May 17, 2024, to receive settlement payments.
Who is Eligible
People who received an unsolicited call that used a fake or pre-recorded voice on their cell phone about FCA’s American Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid minivan in or around July 2018.
