FIAT is giving the Panda a second life until 2027

It is a leap year and you can tell by the introduction of Pandina. A rare thing. It is not really a brand new car, but something that has been successful with us for more than 13 years. The beautifully designed Panda was a welcome guest at a time when the entire factory in the south of Italy was modernized. The little five doors later became so successful that it would be unreasonable to part with it now. So that won’t happen for a long time. He can stay, until 2027 at least.

Two pandas will mix.

The new FIAT Panda is waiting for us. We will see it this summer and that is basically a problem in terms of naming. The Panda has been a FIAT icon for decades and only one will carry that name. So FIAT comes up with a better solution. The current Panda is smaller than the next version and therefore FIAT chooses to downsize; Climb. The new name that you see beautifully highlighted on the side of the scrub belt. Additionally, a special logo is created for the rims. The door used to stand for the Panda, but now if you look closely you can see the left half of the little baby Panda looking at the whole world. Beautiful! Pandina’s text is printed several times in small regular third windows.

It remains an authentic Italian Panda.

Panda remains Panda as it was. FIAT has recently been criticized that the successor will not come from Italy. During the introduction of the current model in early 2012, the Italian origin of this FIAT was emphasized (“Noi siamo quello che facciamo”.). It stood for development, quality and above all the willingness to invest in the home country. A thriving Italian car factory. But FIAT is not shy and reiterates this in today’s Pandina presentation; “Fatta in Italy” (made in Italy). Production of this model will increase by even 20% because demand will increase, FIAT said today. A compact hybrid is the solution for those who are still desperate for an EV.

Pandina meets all the safety requirements that will be mandatory for all new cars produced in the European Union from the middle of this year. That’s why in the Pandina you now also get all the digital assistance (ADAS) to promote the safety you can desire (and which you sometimes want to turn off). It is possible thanks to the detection camera behind the inner mirror. Lane assist, automatic brake assist, advice to stop if you are driving too long and recognition of signs and signals at the roadside. It can be seen on the new 7-inch display behind the steering wheel. The steering has also been changed in relation to the manual setting of the various options. The Pandina is equipped with rear parking sensors as standard. The brightness of the headlights can now also be set for automatic adjustment. The car can also drive at a cruising speed without having to accelerate thanks to the new Cruise control. Pandina has 6 airbags. The Radio DAB 7-inch touchscreen is also new with Apple CarPlay and Android AutoTM. The Pandina can be recognized by its beautiful City Cross shape and still has the red FIAT logo. It is possible to keep the difference with the guest as large as possible (and reduce the cost). Available colors are Bianco Gelato, Nero Cinema, Rosso Passione, Blu Italia and the new Giallo Positano. A black roof is one of the options, which we think is really cool. FIAT will keep the Pandina in production for over 3 years and will sell it in all major European markets.
