Fiat Pandina: to be produced until 2030

The legendary Fiat Panda, recently named “Pandina”, will continue to drive for many years to come. Its production is guaranteed until at least 2030. This announcement, made by Carlos Tavares, CEO of Stellantis, confirms the brand’s commitment to this model, despite the age of the car in complete transformation.

The decision of to expand production of the Fiat Panda beyond previous forecasts (it was scheduled to expire in 2026, but was later extended to the end of 2027) shows Stellantis’ confidence in the long-term potential of this structure. Manufactured at Arco’s Pomigliano plant, the Panda will continue to meet European emissions requirements, while remaining an important pillar in the Italian market.

In addition to this announcement, Carlos Tavares revealed that Stellantis will invest a lot in this model, which is still visible. among the best sellers in Italy. This financial support is not surprising, considering the enduring popularity of the Panda and more than 106,000 units were sold for a total of 130,000 in the rest of Europe.

As for the future of the brand, note that a new generation of Fiat Panda is also in preparation. This will be an SUV, marking a clear break with the current model. This development is strategic, allowing Fiat keep two generations of Pandas in different parts of the market without them eating other people’s meat.

The continuation of Pandina production until the end of the decade is also a reflection of Stellantis’ strategy, in line with their ambitious goal of producing one million vehicles per year. Perhaps the experience of the electric 500 has taught us that it is not so obvious to replace the best seller with a new model.
