The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration issued multiple recalls last week, including a recall of about 43,000 Ford Broncos and Escapes over engine oil leaks that could pose a fire hazard.

Aston Martin recalls for loose electrical wiring
Aston Martin is recalling 2,902 of its 2021-2024 DBX vehicles. Inside of NHTSA report, the company said that the electrical wires in the battery fuse box could be loose, which could cause the engine to stall, or loss of headlights and/or power steering. If the engine stalls or the vehicle loses headlights or power steering, it increases the risk of an accident.
To fix the issue, Aston Martin dealers will check the fuses and cables for damage. All parts, including fasteners, will be replaced if necessary. All repairs will be completed free of charge. Notification letters are expected to be sent on April 22. Owners can contact Aston Martin customer service at 1-888-923-9988. The Aston Martin number for this recall is RA-63-1832.

Daimler Truck recall for cracked wheel flange
Daimler truck is recalling 29,092 of its vehicles. Steering wheel flanges can crack and cause tire damage. If the tire is damaged, it can cause loss of vehicle control and increase the risk of an accident, according to NHTSA report.
Currently, a solution is still being finalized to resolve this issue. Recall notification letters are expected to be sent on June 2. Owners may contact DTNA customer service at 1-800-547-0712. The DTNA number for this reference is FL999.

Hyundai recalls for rear camera restriction
Hyundai is recalling 18,206 of its 2024 Santa Fe vehicles. Inside of NHTSA report, the automaker said that the rear camera image can be blocked by trailer park assist messages. An obstructed rear camera image reduces the driver’s view behind the vehicle and will increase the risk of an accident or injury.
The federal agency said the recalled Hyundai vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 111, “Rear Visibility.”
As a solution, Hyundai dealers will update the software for the rearview camera system. The update will be a free service for affected drivers. Notification letters are expected to be delivered by June 1. Owners can contact Hyundai customer service at 1-855-371-9460. Hyundai’s number for this recall is 258.

Jeep recall for turn signal functionality
Chrysler is recalling 12,221 of its 2022 Jeep Cherokee vehicles. Inside of NHTSA report, the turn signal cancellation feature may not work properly. If the turn signal is not working properly, it will fail to indicate the driver’s decision to change direction. This defect will increase the risk of an accident.
Additionally, the NHTSA report revealed that these vehicles do not comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 108, “Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment.”
Drivers with a 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee can bring their vehicles to the dealer for inspection. The mechanics will then replace the free column control module. Referral notification letters are expected to be delivered by May 17. Owners can contact FCA customer service at 1-800-853-1403. The FCA number for this recall is 24B.

Chrysler recall for disabling traction control
Chrysler is recalling 26,776 of its 2024 Pacifica and Voyager vehicles. The automaker said the traction control system (TCS) does not work when the cruise control is on. When a car has a traction control system that doesn’t work, it can increase the risk of an accident, according to NHTSA report.
Free of charge, Chrysler dealers will update the TCS software on all affected vehicles. Notification letters are expected to be sent on May 17. Owners can contact FCA customer service at 1-800-853-1403. The FCA number for this recall is 22B.

Ford is recalling Broncos, Escapes over fuel leaks
Federal auto regulators have announced an investigation into Ford’s recall of nearly 42,652 vehicles following a faulty fuel injectors that they say can cause gas leaks and engine fires.
In a summary report released Thursday, NHTSA wrote that it is opening an investigation into the recall of Ford Bronco and Escape vehicles.
According to federationiinvestigation ad, owners can take their vehicle to a Ford or Lincoln dealer to have a drain pipe installed at no cost to the vehicle.
The fix also includes a free engine control software update to detect pressure drops in the fuel injection system, the federal regulator reported. If that happens, the program will turn off the high-pressure fuel pump, reducing engine power and lowering engine compartment temperature. Owners will also get a “search for service” message, the documents show.
The Ford number for this recall is 24S16. This recall is an extension of the previous recall: 22V-859. For more information, owners can contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332.
