Starting at $37,295, It Gets a 30-Inch Screen

  • Buick revealed updated information about the updated Envision SUV, which has a starting price of $37,295.
  • There is a brand new cluster of 30-inch screen measuring unit and the main functions of infotainment.
  • Buick has also scrapped its plan to include Super Cruise on the 2024 Envision, opting to debut it later.

Buick’s all-SUV lineup has been undergoing a makeover lately with the company recently updating the 2024 Envision. We saw the sleek redesign back in June, but the company has released new details on the revamped Envision as the SUV’s summer arrival approaches.

As with Buick’s other recently updated models, pricing has been split into three trim levels, with the Envision ditching the old mid-level Essence in favor of a new Sport Touring trim. The entry barrier for the Envision has risen to become a more modern SUV, with the price of the recommended entry-level trim jumping $2500 to $37,295. The new Sport Touring trim adds 20-inch alloy wheels instead of the standard 18s and starts $2500 more than the Recommended, coming in at $39,795.

Stepping up to the top-of-the-line Avenir means shelling out a lot more dough, with the top-of-the-line model carrying a base price of $48,395. Higher trim builds add convenience features like a heated steering wheel, multi-zone A/C, and standard remote engine start.

Unlike the system that debuted in the Encore GX, which pairs an 8.0-inch gauge cluster with an 11.0-inch central infotainment under a single piece of glass, all Envision models have a comparatively larger 30-inch touchscreen display. According to Buick, the system allows owners to customize the screen to display the information they find most important. The system uses customizable widgets to provide navigation, media or general vehicle information. The system comes standard with Google built-in, and wireless versions of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard.

No Super Cruise (For Now)

Unfortunately, the Envision won’t come with GM’s Super Cruise hands-free driving assistant, as originally planned. The brand ditched the upgraded SUV’s technology ahead of its launch. According to Buick, as Vision schedules changed, so did the launch of Super Cruise-equipped Buicks. Fortunately for tech fans, a Buick representative confirmed it Car and Driver that the brand remains committed to adding the system to its vehicles in the future.

This is the first time we’ve seen the updated Envision interior in all its glory. In addition to the new screen, the front and rear seats have been redesigned, as has the dash and center console. Buick also amped up the Vision’s two-tone look, particularly with Slate Blue surrounding the top of the dash and the front door cards.

Little has changed in the performance department, and the 228-hp turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine returns as the sole mill. It is paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission. All-wheel drive is now standard, as Buick has dropped standard front-wheel drive from the lineup.

The Envision is expected to begin arriving at dealers this summer.
