Hennessey comes with a rock-solid Dodge Demon 1700 Twin-Turbo

You won’t believe what Hennessey has done to the already powerful Dodge Demon. Z0, Dodge introduced the Challenger SRT Demon 170, with 1,025 hp, but John Hennessey didn’t think that was impressive enough. He got his hands on one, removed the supercharger and created the Demon 1700 Twin-Turbo model. And get this: Hennessey is now releasing an insane new version through their new division called Hennessey Special Operations (HSO), which plans to build just 15 to 20 of these beasts each year.

The standard Demon 170 is no slouch, with a 3.0-liter supercharger on the 6.2-liter Hellcat V-8, making 1,025 hp and 945 ft lbs of torque on E85 fuel. It claims an astonishing 0-62mph in just 1.66 seconds and a quarter-mile time of 8.91 seconds at 154.17mph. Dodge is making just 3,300 of these cars, starting at $96,666.

Measurements

For those who don’t think that’s fast enough, Hennessey has the Demon 1700 Twin-Turbo package. They take the original Hellcat engine and transmission, keep them as museum pieces, and put in a new high performance car. The addition of twin turbos is expected to drop the quarter-mile time to 7.9 seconds at 186 mph.

The wind on four wheels

With an output of 1,700 hp, these Devils almost match Hennessey’s own Venom F5 hypercar, which has 1,817 hp. But wait, there’s a little more going on. Only 12 of these Demon 1700 Twin-Turbos will be made, given the unique HSO environment. This is a change from Hennessey’s usual production numbers, with HSO targeting high-powered and limited-edition models.

Hennessey usually calls their past creations “high-powered cars” and teases that the future HSO will build will be “high-powered.” The Demon 1700 Twin-Turbo package starts around $200,000, not including the Demon 170 donor car. Can you imagine hitting the streets with one of these? We continue to dream of one day owning such an animal.
