Even if you have your (very valid!) concerns about send your money to John Hennesseythere is no denying that Toxic Revolution F5 it has a lot of power. With a twin-turbocharged mid-mounted V8, it makes over 1,800 horsepower and can be claimed to top out at 300 mph. It is also now the fastest production car ever to grace the famous Texas State Circuit of the Americas, CarScoops reports.

The Venom F5 Revolution is a track-focused version of the F5, adding a number of aero and chassis modifications to make it faster through the turns. And it sure is fast. Running a set of Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 R tires, it lapped the COTA in 2:10.90. That time is 0.43 seconds faster than the previous record Czinger C21 with a time of 2:11.33. As CarScoops points out, the Venom F5 Revolution’s lap time is also nearly seven seconds faster than the previous McLaren P1’s time of 2:17.12.

With that record broken, Hennessey now has its sights set on achieving another record – the world’s fastest production car. Back in 2019, Bugatti Chiron modified on special tires hit a top speed of 304.773 mph, but Hennessey thinks it can beat that record. Finding a runway or road that is long and straight enough to run at high speed safely is reportedly a problem, but assuming they can find one, it’s only a matter of time before the Texas roadster races the Bugatti. .

Whether or not Hennessey succeeds remains to be seen. Initially, the Venom F5 topped out at 270 mph during development testing at what was then NASA’s Landing Center at Cape Canaveral. That’s nothing to turn your nose up at, but it’s still far from the 305 mph it would need to hit to set the new record.
