Javier Milei meets Elon Musk: “Love at first sight”

AArgentina’s independent president Javier Milei met with tech billionaire Elon Musk. Both agreed that markets needed to be opened more and ideas of freedom defended, the president’s office said after a meeting at Tesla’s factory in Austin, Texas on Friday. “For a fun and exciting future,” wrote Musk on his X messaging platform.

The duo posted a photo that showed them both in good spirits with a thumbs up. The image was circulated by Milei’s supporters, often with the words “Libertad” (Spanish for “freedom”), the politician’s motto in Argentina. Miley herself he also shared a video, which showed him around Tesla’s “virtual truck”.

The Argentine delegation expressed hope that the entrepreneur will invest in the South American country in the future. Argentina has large reserves of lithium, which is used, among other things, in electric vehicle batteries.

Milei also promised Musk that she would support him in the dispute between his news platform X and a Brazilian court, the president’s office said in a statement. Because Musk interfered in the investigation against so-called digital militants, cases of obstruction of justice and incitement to commit a crime were recently initiated against him.
