The aim of the cell method is to establish a more efficient and flexible production process, reducing the distance between the materials and the products needed during the various stages of production. At the modern Hwaseong plant, the new cell method will be used in conjunction with a multi-component conveyor system in series for maximum flexibility and further customization of the final product variety. Kia will also introduce innovative technologies such as automation using machine learning and artificial intelligence, automation of color quality control, automation of some parts and the introduction of real-time analysis of quality data. Kia plans to introduce the SW (project name), the first example of a dedicated PBV type in 2025. It will be a medium-sized PBV, based on the “eS” platform, a special skateboard deck for battery electric PBVs, which will allow . create a variety of body functions with great ease. The SW is designed to meet a wide range of needs such as transportation, carpooling and business-to-business (B2B) activities thanks to its incredible loading structure and large interior space.
