The new generation Dodge Charger Daytona would leave the buzz if it had a soul. After all, it can never participate in a fire-spitting competition, as its powertrain will not allow it. Plus, the ICE-powered ones won’t sound as good as this V8 Ford Mustang, even if it gets the straight-pipe treatment.

Remember, Dodge can still play this Mustang with its previous Challenger SRT Hellcat series, and if it brings the mighty Demon 170 to the discussion, it’s the Blue Oval muscle car that would leave the buzz.

You see, in its top configuration, the latter boasts no less than 1,025 horsepower (1,039 ps/764 kW) Dodge says it takes 2 seconds to sprint to 60 mph (97 kph) and can tackle the quarter mile in eight seconds.

Even the latest Shelby Super Snake can’t compare to that, as it has 830 more horsepower (842 ps/619 kW) on tap from its supercharged 5.0-liter Coyote V8, a gain of 70 hp (71 ps/52 kW) more than the S550-based Shelby GT500, it still has about 200 horsepower (203 ps/149 kW) less than the Demon 170. We won’t even mention the base version of this model, which comes with 480 hp (487 ps/358 kW) .

Remember, this story has nothing to do with the Ford Mustang Shelby Super Snake or the Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170. It’s also not about the discontinued Chevrolet Camaro ZL1, as it’s about one special edition of the previous generation Mustang series. This muscle car has a lot of modifications, and is able to start the grill quickly thanks to its new exhaust system that spits and tips that come out of the center of the trunk lid.

Yes, you read that right: the exhaust pipes are no longer integrated into the diffuser. The sheer amount of work that went into it has given this muscle car a more exotic vibe inspired by mid-engine rear-wheel drive cars. From what we can tell, the owner has played it safe in terms of bodywork, as while this pony car may have a few visual tweaks here and there, it’s not kitschy by any means. In fact, if it weren’t for the ad-hoc fire-spitting competition, it would have gone under the radar.

A short clip of this cool design was recently shared on social media by @mustanggans_ and it shows the S550 generation Ford Mustang in question spewing huge flames through its exhaust tips. It’s sad to know that this game won’t be possible anytime soon, as the future of this class is electric, but hey, at least we can enjoy tricks like this for a few more years.
