Enea Bastianini (8th) wants to be trained by Marc Marquez / MotoGP

Italian factory Ducati rider Enea Bastianini went straight into Q2 on a busy first day of MotoGP training at Jerez and then explained the differences in rider styles in the Ducati stable.

Enea Bastianini drove straight into Q2 in eighth place in Jerez on Friday after being strong in qualifying recently. The Italian from Rimini lost almost half a second at the Circuit de Jerez – Angel Nieto to the best time holder and teammate Pecco Bagnaia, who attacked with a shot in the afternoon.

“The feeling was not bad,” reported Bastianini. “Where I lost time again in the 3rd sector. Every year the third sector is a problem for me. I have to compare the data with that of Marc Marquez, who is very fast in the left-hand corners. Then I can see a few things. “In general, the bike it’s very good, you just have to adjust the little things according to the data,” summarizes the second winner of the World Cup. “If I’m driving alone, it’s not bad – it’s fine. But when I have other drivers in front of me, I see that they are faster at the apex. I generally waste time in this section. It’s amazing because everything is good on the right-hand bends, I’m one of the fastest there.”

Enea commented on the frequent speech problem that some Ducati riders experience: “In my opinion it could be something about the rider’s style. I usually use the front wheel more and don’t push hard on the back wheel. Marc and I are Ducati riders with a similar style. Pecco and Jorge Martin put a lot of pressure on the rear wheel. They’re aggressive on the sidelines, I think that’s the problem with both of them.”
