Electric Mercedes C-Class (2025): First pictures

Everything will be new with the electric Mercedes C-Class (2025): Not only because it will not have the EQ name, but also because it is based on a clean platform. We show the first pictures and estimate the price and range!

Price: Mercedes C-Class electric (2025) from around 60,000 euros

2025 is the year of the Mercedes C-Class: Not only because the combustion engine facelift will be launched, but also because the mid-range from Stuttgart will be available fully electric for the first time. Most likely it will be based on the MB.EA architecture, which is also announced for 2025. Last but not least, the many advantages of the platform, including the 800 V technology and long range, can ensure that the electric Mercedes C-Class will rely more on EQE, which costs 67,187 euros, than the combustion engine C. -Class from 45,202 euros (from: April 2024). Speaking of EQE: the current Mercedes electric car nomenclature probably won’t be followed by the electric C-Class because the EQ sub-brand has reached its limit when it comes to naming logic. This was the name of the mid-range SUV EQC, which was built between 2019 and 2023. In any case, Mercedes only wants to offer electric cars in this country from 2030, so the difference from the classic series will be necessary.

Drives: One and two possible engines

The electric Mercedes C-Class (2025) is still far away, as the hidden spy photos prove. However, we can already make preliminary assumptions about the drive. As is common in the mid-range electric range, arrangements with a rear engine in the standard or variant version and an additional front engine, i.e. all-wheel drive, for more powerful offshoots up to AMG are also conceivable. C-Class. When it comes to the size of the battery, according to media reports, the paper can say up to 100 kWh – a range of 700 km should be achieved.

External: no EQ arch design

The first photos of the electric Mercedes C-Class (2025) show more than meets the eye. Erlkönig’s foil cannot hide the fact that a new fictional language is entering the series. Unlike the curved EQ sedans with their forward-facing cabs, we see a more traditional roof profile on the model. This ends with a short, short back, similar to the one we know from the competitor Tesla Model 3. The small front bumper and oddly shaped headlights also allow the relationship with the top dog from the United States. It is highly likely that these are not common features; that applies to the rear lights. It is still unclear if and when the electric C-Class will receive a station wagon trunk.

Interior: MBUX Hyperscreen entlarvt?

Unlike the combustion engine, the electric Mercedes C-Class (2025) seems to be based on the MBUX hyperscreen, as we know it from EQE and EQS. At least the first photo of the interior suggests this. Above the central screen you can also see the camera lens among a large number of cover mats, which should be useful for video calls, among other things.

Our conclusion

Mercedes seems to be approaching the crowd again with the electric C-Class (2025): This applies not only to the arched design, which has taken some getting used to, but also to the name. The EQC sounds more sophisticated, but nowhere near as impressive. However, everyone can relate to the simple name C-Class.
