The MG HS 2022 is a small, lightweight sports car designed with the intention of providing high performance and efficiency. The MG HS was well received by its buyers as it was able to meet their driving demand through sports. MG stands for Morris Garages and was founded in 1922 by William Morris. The company existed under various owners until 1967 when Rover took control. Today the company is owned by SAIC, but they are best known for their small and smart cars. In 2004, SAIC built a new factory in China, which produced the MG HS SUV.

Originally designed as a small car, the MG HS 2022 first appeared in public at the 1957 London Vehicle Exhibition, where it was nicknamed the City. In 1961, the MG HS SUV was renamed “The Sports” and was now considered a small sports car. When the car was designed it was intended to fill the gap between the Morris 1100 and Triumph TR2. When MG HS was first launched the car was named ‘The Sports’, ‘Sports’ became the car’s name and soon MG HS SUVs were on sale throughout the UK. Production of MG HS continued from 1957 to 1964 in the United Kingdom, Japan and China. Morris was acquired by Rover Company in 1967 and MG HS Review Top Gear continued to be built by Rover Company until 1981 when production ceased. The first unique MG HS was developed in 1954, the second MG HS SUV was developed in 1955 and the last MG HS SUV was developed in 1964.
MG HS Engine
The MG HS PHEV had different engine variants that were used. The first MG HS used a 1,450 cc side valve engine. This engine was developed by HE Simex, who was MG’s chief engineer. The next engine used was a 1,700 cc side valve engine, while the last engine was a 1,700 cc side valve engine engine.
