Mini Aceman leaked (by the Chinese government)

Usually when an unreleased car is leaked, it is done by an interested party or by an ex-employee with a grudge. In this case, pictures of the new Mini Aceman were leaked by China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. That in itself is impressive enough, but the car itself doesn’t disappoint either.

Full electric

Mini Aceman is the first car to be fully electric has an Anglo-German mark. Of course we already have an electric Mini, but that’s more of an electrified variant of a petrol car. There are already some specifications available, which have also been revealed by the Chinese government.

In any case, there is a version with a 184 hp electric motor and a 40 kWh battery pack. This real powertrain is now in the Mini Electric and the car can take you between 290 and 305 kilometers (WLTP).

The Mini Aceman also gets an S variant. It is definitely more powerful with a 218 hp electric motor and a 54.2 kWh battery pack. This gives the current Mini Cooper SE a range of between 375 and 400 km (also WLTP). In fact, this is a description of the Chinese market, but it is correct that these powerful devices will also be released in our country.

Know your place

The Mini Aceman is an impressive car in terms of size. Mini suspect they’re looking for a mid-size Mini between the Cooper and the Citizen. The new citizen has of course also become bigger. The Aceman is currently smaller in size than the outgoing Citizen, but therefore slightly larger than the current Cooper.

In addition, it is important that we remember that all this is about the Mini Aceman that will be released in China. It is possible that the car will change slightly in shape or dimensions as European regulations differ from those in China. There are also JCW (John Cooper Works) stickers on display, but the question is whether this will be an option package or another run of the cars and whether or not it will come to Europe.
