Montreal Auto Show | GMC

We bet you would be hard-pressed to pass the GMC stand without stopping there. This General Motors brand comes to Montreal with two Hummers (SUT and SUV). Even better, it will be possible to get behind the wheel. Just sign up for the test drive program. All details on the Show.

That said, despite their size, Hummers shouldn’t hide the new thing that GMC is presenting in the Canadian preview: the Acadia. Longer, higher and wider than its predecessor, this Acadia, the third of the name, is driven by a mechanism with a reduced displacement. In fact, only a supercharged four-cylinder engine with a turbocharger will now move it from its static position. Producing 328 hp and 326 lb-ft of torque, this engine is mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. Two that allow the Acadia to tow a maximum payload of 2268 kg (5000 lb).

The designers also revised the interior of this utility vehicle with three rows of seats. Its increased wheelbase made it possible to increase the space for passengers and their luggage. In comparison, the cargo area behind the third row jumps by almost 80%. On the connectivity front, the Acadia gets an infotainment system compatible with Google services. These, like other parameters, are visible on the central touch screen of 15 inches. The latter also allows, depending on the version, to view the images taken directly by the nine cameras available to increase security. Additionally, the Acadia retains the services of the semi-autonomous Super Cruise operating system, which includes traction assist and automatic lane-changing capabilities.
