After the premiere of the electric Citroen e-C3, combustion variants are now also joining the car range. One of them is the Hybrid 100, which, according to the French, is perfect for the city.

The current generation of Citroen C3 stands out from its predecessor in one thing above all. In its latest version, it is no longer an ordinary city car, but a crossover. All thanks to the increased ground clearance from 13.5 to 16.3 cm.

The new Citroen C3 was created on the Smart Car platform, intended for affordable electric and combustion-powered cars. Initially, it started as a “cheap electric car”, called e-C3. “Cheap” means that in Poland we will have to pay from PLN 110,650 for this car.

Subsequent variants of the new Citroen C3 will certainly cost a little more. The base unit will be a 100-horsepower 3-cylinder engine with a capacity of 1.2. It is mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox.

The second new source of the Citroen C3 car is the version Hybrid 100. This name covers a gasoline engine with a power of 100 HP (205 Nm), but with a 28 HP electric motor.

It is housed in a 6-speed automatic dual-clutch transmission. It also comes with a small lithium-ion battery. According to the French the hybrid drive system allows you to get around the city up to 50% in electric mode only.

This means a 10% fuel saving compared to the clean combustion variant.

Much higher than its predecessor

The new Citroen C3 is 401 cm long, 176 cm wide and 157 cm tall. While the first two dimensions have not changed much compared to the outgoing model, the last one has increased by 10 cm.

According to the French, the current generation of this car is more open than the previous one. For seat passengers, it offers 3 cm more headroom and 2.1 cm more elbow room than the average B-segment model.

Compared to the outgoing C3, it will also offer 2 cm more knee room and 1.9 cm more elbow room in the second row of seats. The trunk is better 310 liters (previously: 300 liters). Expandable by folding the 60:40 split bench.

From a technical point of view, the most important solution in the new Citroen C3 is the continuous hydraulic suspension springs, known for example from the C5 Aircross. In the case of small differences (light compression), the spring and the shock absorber together control the vertical movement of the body, without the need to use hydraulic cushions.

On the other hand, when there is a big flaw in the asphalt, all these elements work together. In this way, cushions gradually reduce body movements, eliminating shock. Unlike a rubber cushion, which absorbs energy and then returns some of it in the form of impact, the fluid element not only absorbs it, but also dissipates it.

New Citroen C3: two variants

The price of the new Citroen C3 in France in the original version will start from EUR 14,990 (approximately PLN 64,000). A car, like The E-C3 is offered in two trim levels, called You and Max.

The first includes, among others: LED lighting, head-up display, air conditioning and rear parking assist. In addition, there is a built-in phone holder with basic driver assistance systems. That is, among others: lane keeping, as well as speed limit and driver fatigue assistants.

The most expensive Max variant (PLN 132,100) is primarily enhanced with a multimedia and navigation system with a 10-inch screen, a reversing camera, a center console with a rest, an inductive charger, automatic air conditioning and a steering wheel. artificial leather.

The car comes with 17-inch alloy wheels and has tinted rear windows and LED taillights.
