Austin: Ai Ogura fastest ahead of Joe Roberts / Moto2

Japan before USA before Spain. There was a colorful mix of nationalities in the first free practice session. Two of the first three positions are owned by Boscoscuro drivers.

After a familiar incident on the Moto3 timesheet, in the first free practice session of the intermediate GP class, Ai Ogura and Dennis Foggia, two pilots who had little to report in the previous sessions of the year, reported to work as faster. . Aron Canet, Manuel Gonzalez and Fermín Aldeguer, established Moto2 heroes, were close at the break.

Five minutes before the end, other known masters had found the right line. Boscoscuro Lopez’s pilot captured the scene in the early morning Texas sun. Then Ogura followed. In his last lap, his fellow brand got a new record.
He edged out second place by just 0.06 seconds to “American hero” Joe Roberts in the Kalex of the USA Exclusive Racing Team.
Femín Aldeguer surprisingly slipped in the last minutes of training. The youngster, who already has a MotoGP contract with Ducati, finished the first ride in 17th place.

The ability of the Pirelli tires that have been used this season has also been proven in Austin. With a low lap time of 2:09, the front runners were already faster in free practice than in Q2 on their last visit to Austin.

Also strange: As in the previous race weekend in the Algarve, the Husqvarna Intact GP team screamed around the field with almost identical lap times. After 40 minutes, Darryn Binder and Senna Agius in 19th and 21st positions were just visible at the back of the field.
