Look back a little: the 5008 has been around since 2009 and its first generation was built until 2017. At that time, Peugeot was still talking about a small car. Due to the dynamic nature of the SUV, the second generation was developed as an SUV, while retaining the flexibility and option of seven seats. There was a facelift in 2021. The car range included diesel, petrol and hybrid engines. Peugeot is now introducing the new E-5008. The model is closely related to the SUV coupe E-3008 and is essentially a seven-seater counterpart. As the abbreviation “E” suggests, the new model is only available as a full electric.

Let’s stay on topic: There will be three versions at market launch. This is the beginning E-5008 Electric 210 Standard Range and front wheel drive, 213 hp and 335 Nm. The distance here is about 500 km. That’s about it E-5008 Electric 320 Dual Motor calm down This model has an electric motor mounted on both axles. The manufacturer says the performance of the system as a total of 322 hp and 515 Nm. The top example is E-5008 Electric 230 Long. 231 horsepower drives the front wheels. The range is around 660 km. Peugeot has not yet announced the full battery capacity for the three versions. The maximum charge performance on the fast charger should be 160 kW. 11 KW is possible with alternating current. The charging time from 20 to 80 percent is given as a typical 30 minutes. In the coming days, customers will have the opportunity to order the SUV in a hybrid or plug-in version.

Visually, the E-5008 is a further development of the current model. The front is the same as E-3008 and therefore has a new look of the brand and the usual Peugeot LED lighting signature. There are 19 or 20 models under the wheel arches. As with its predecessor, the taillights are placed above, just below the rear window and are held together by a black element. Side note: While the new Peugeot logo is used on the front, the brand name can be found written only on the back. Although the design does not change much, there is definitely a difference in the car’s dimensions compared to its predecessor, as the car is now 25 centimeters longer and 4.79 meters wide. The wheel grows by 16 centimeters to 2.90 meters. More generous proportions benefit passengers in the second and third rows. If you use all the seats, you can still store 259 liters in the trunk behind them. There is additional storage space under the third row seats with a capacity of approximately 80 liters and an optional drawer. If you fold the 3rd row down, 748 liters are possible. The E-SUV swallows a maximum volume of 1,815 liters and has a cargo area floor of two meters. The rear seats of the seats in the 2nd row can be adjusted independently in five positions. The trunk floor behind the third row of seats can also be raised and stored vertically behind the seats, creating additional space for vertical storage of suitcases and hand luggage.

Cockpit from E-3008

In the first pictures of the French shown, it looks as if the dashboard is not different from that of the E-3008. What stands out the most is the attached panoramic widescreen. But this is only available in the top version “GT”. The basic version of “Allure” has two displays next to each other. The small steering wheel, which is positioned up and down and is typical of the brand, sits a little lower so you can look at the steering wheel on the display. On its right side there is a toggle switch for gear selection and the so-called “i-Toggles”. These touch buttons can be assigned individual functions – depending on your personal taste. A few buttons are located on the bottom of the boomerang-shaped support of the center console. “Ok Peugeot” voice function and ChatGPT are also on board.
