Originally, the Riviera was supposed to be a Cadillac but the luxury brand didn’t want it and Buick was keen to offer a personal luxury gift in its range. Well done to him! Eight generations of the Riviera were produced from 1963 to 1999 (except 1994) in more than 1.1 million copies. In 1979, it will be followed by the Cadillac Eldorado and Oldsmobile Toronado and will switch to front-wheel drive. Buick will try in 2007 and 2013 to revive the name with two concepts (presented at the end of the gallery), but without success.

Welcome to this journey through time (in chronological order).

In the photo: 1963, 1971, 1980 and 1995 models.
