Until now, the road shown by Polestar was only a concept. But the two-seater from the Swedish electric car brand is scheduled to go into series production in 2026.

Polestar made the announcement at the company’s headquarters in Gothenburg. The model should come to the market as Polestar 6 Electric Performance Roadster. The introduction is scheduled for 2026. Customers who are interested in this car have been able to reserve a production space online since Tuesday.

“Due to the overwhelming response from customers and the press, we have decided to mass produce this amazing roadster and I look forward to making it a reality,” he said. The automaker presented a concept car in Los Angeles in March as the Polestar O₂. The car is built “on the design, technology and sustainable ambitions of the Polestar Command,” according to the Swedes. The Roadster has an 800-volt electric architecture, which will also be featured on the Polestar 5. With this platform, the Swedes aim for an output of up to 884 hp and a maximum torque of 900 Nm. The car has two electric motors and is said to run from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.2 seconds. The maximum speed is 250 km / h.

On the occasion of the market launch, the Swedes want to release 500 numbered copies of the special edition “La Concept” as “Polestar 6 LA Concept edition”. The edition model will feature exclusively the “Sky” blue exterior, light leather interior and special 21-inch wheels of the original Polestar O₂ concept car, the company said.
